The POMS 8th Grade Activities Committee has been busy planning the following events celebrating the Class of 2026:

- Friday, May 15 (6:45PM - 9:15PM): 8th Grade Semi-Formal Dance at POMS

- Tuesday, May 26 (2:30PM - 4PM): 8th Grade A House Promotion Ceremony

8th Grade Breakfast & Yearbook Signing
WHO?
- POMS 8th grade students and their teachers
WHAT?
- Breakfast buffet for our 8th grade students to enjoy while they sign each other's yearbooks. Do not forget to bring your yearbook to the breakfast!
- Purchase your yearbook by December 31 to ensure it will arrive in time for the breakfast. Students who did not purchase a yearbook will be provided a booklet to collect autographs for FREE, thanks to our generous underwriters and sponsors.
- Yearbooks will be distributed during lunch before this date for all 8th graders who purchased. Students must show IDs to pick up their copy.
- Students should wear their 8th Grade T-shirts (or blue/gray/white POMS spirit shirts) and school uniform bottoms.
WHEN?
- Wednesday, June 3 (8:30AM - 10:30AM)
- Students should report to the cafeteria NO LATER THAN 8:15AM.
- Students will return to class after the breakfast.
WHERE?
- POMS MPR
8th Grade Semi-Formal Dance
WHO?
- POMS 8th grade students ONLY. NO other grades. No other schools.
WHAT?
- Semi-Formal Dance for our 8th grade students to enjoy their last few weeks as middle schoolers!
- Purchase a ticket online as part of the Underwriter + "Club 26" Ultimate Package or "Club 26" Ultimate Package by December 31. Or buy a dance ticket a la carte for $20 online until Thursday, May 14, at 11:59PM.
- Students may also buy a dance ticket during lunch on Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, for $20 (cash, ApplePay, or credit card).
- In addition, tickets will be sold at the door for $25 (cash, ApplePay, or credit card).
- Please note that there is no physical dance ticket- your child's name will be on a list at the check-in table. If you purchased an Underwriter Package + "Club 26" Ultimate Package or "Club 26" Ultimate Package, one dance ticket was included in the purchase price.
- Students do not need to bring/wear their IDs.
- Students should wear Semi-Formal Attire (Girls typically wear semi-formal length dresses/skirts. Boys usually wear slacks/collared shirt. Dress shoes or tennis shoes are fine!)

Students should enter through the glass doors by the athletic fields.

The dance ends at 9:15 PM. YOU MUST BE AT THE SCHOOL FOR PICKUP BY 9:15 PM!

Principal Vela and school staff must stay until all students are picked up, so please be respectful of their time and be at school no later than 9:15 PM to pick up your child.
WHERE?
- POMS MPR
8th Grade Promotion Ceremonies
WHO?
- POMS 8th grade students and their invited guests. POMS siblings are permitted to attend as long as they are not taking a HS credit exam during the ceremony. You must sign them out in the office upon arrival.
- Though there is not a limit on the number of family members who may attend, we are asking all families to complete this RSVP form (check back soon for link) to expedite the check-in process.
WHAT?
- POMS is holding promotion ceremonies by house to honor our 8th grade students for their hard work and accomplishments.
- It is recommended that students wear their school uniforms. All students must adhere to a school-appropriate dress code. Review the POMS Parent & Student Handbook for full details. Students must wear their attire for the full school day and will not be permitted to change their clothing for the ceremony.
- A photographer will be present to take photos of EACH student as they walk across the stage, so there is no need to crowd around the front or sides of the MPR. These photos will be available for FREE for ALL parents to download, thanks to our amazing 8th grade parents who purchased Underwriter & "Club 26" Ultimate Packages and generous 8th grade sponsors. Thank you all!

WHERE?
- POMS MPR
- Check in at the front office.
- Please arrive 30 minutes early to give yourself time to check in and get seated.
8th Grade Promotion Parade & Picnic
WHO?
- 8th grade students and their invited guests. Please limit to 2 guests for the parade.
WHAT?
- A parade throughout the school for other POMS grades to cheer for our 8th graders.
- Students should wear school uniform bottoms and a shirt from the high school they will attend. Please contact your high school on how to purchase a school shirt by April 30. (Alternatively, a POMS 8th grade T-shirt or POMS spirit shirt may be worn.)
- Bellaire HS Spirit Store In the notes section, add your student's name. Orders will be delivered to your student at POMS during lunch.

- Picnic will feature treats, a DJ, games, and HUGE raffle prizes for students (must be present to win).
- A photographer will be present to take photos of students as they walk in the parade. WHEN?
- Thursday, June 4 (9AM - 11AM)
- Check-in will begin at 8:30AM and end at 9AM.
- Parade lineup is at 9AM. Parade ends by 9:30AM.
- Picnic is for students only and begins at 9:30AM and ends at 11AM.
- Parents who wish to pick up their student may return after the picnic is over at 11AM to sign them out.
- Students still on campus after 11AM will return to class.

- Students should report to the MPR NO LATER THAN 8:15AM.
- Parents, please check in at the front office starting at 8:30AM.
- Parents will be directed to line up along parade route.
