HISD's Virtual Parent University
HISD is holding its first Parent University events for the 2021-2022 academic school year on Tuesday, September 21. For now, Parent University sessions will be held virtually via Zoom and will connect parents and students to HISD and community resources to help support successful academic outcomes as well as safe and healthy environments at home and in school. The September Parent University topics will cover navigation HISD digital resources such as HISD's Parent Connect portal, the HUB, HISD@HOME, learning more about the Temporary Online Learning platform, and much more.
Parents will also learn about HISD support services aimed at assisting parents and students with non-academic needs, as well as the School Choice application process and deadlines. The community partner for this session will provide families with COVID vaccine information and other important information. Sessions will have live translation into Spanish, Arabic, and Vietnamese.
