July 27, 2025

Principal's Post

Dear Charger Parents and Families,

Happy end of July and Hello August! I hope everyone is enjoying the last bit of Summer FUN with family and friends! It was a very busy summer at Pin Oak filled with many projects and initiatives. I want to recognize and thank our amazing custodial team, support staff, administrators, and IT staff for the countless hours put in this summer to ensure we will be ready to welcome more than 1,300 students to a safe, clean, and welcoming building.

Technology Student Association (TSA)

TSA provides competitions and programs that challenge students in STEM learning. In June, POMS students participated in the 2025 National TSA Conference in Nashville, TN. We came away TSA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Ashwin, Liba, Bella & Alexandros took 1st place in Middle School Mass Production with a stackable, modular pet drawer system.

But that’s not all…we crushed it with Top 10 finishes in 5 events — Coding, Microcontrollers, Electrical Apps, Community Service Video and more — out of thousands nationwide! Congratulations to our hard-working students and a massive shoutout to TSA club coordinator, Ms. Martinez.

ParentSquare - New Communication Tool

HISD is launching a new communication tool on August 1 that will take the place of many of the communication channels we utilize. School Messenger will transition to ParentSquare. As the new platform is rolled out, Pin Oak MS will send communications through our current channels and ParentSquare to ensure that information gets to all of our families as ParentSquare is rolled out.

Parents will receive email invitations to set up a new account. We also encourage everyone to download the app. The QR codes below will take you to the Apple and Android Apps for Parent Square. Although email and phone messages will come through without the app, the app helps to streamline communication. More information to follow.

Pin Oak Middle School Website

In alignment with Houston ISD, Pin Oak's website transitioned to a new platform the week of July 21. Updates will continue to be made throughout the year. Please continue to visit our website for more information about all our campus events.
