Parents have two options to attend

• Via Microsoft Teams

If you plan to attend the meeting in person, please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to check in at the front office with your ID.

Pin Oak Middle School will host a Swim Team interest meeting on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria.

To help expedite the process, please create an account on Register My Athlete (if you have not already done so) and upload all required physical forms prior to the meeting.

This is your chance to volunteer and be in the middle of the action! It's a great way to meet other parents and interact with the students in the school store.

• Sign ups are for the 2025-2026 school year
• We require at least 2 people in the store at all times
• The School Store is open during the students' lunch periods. 

Sign Up to Volunteer
Please sign up for the group (A or B)/day(s) that works best for you (shifts are every other week). The 1st shift covers 6th grade lunch and the 2nd shift covers 7th/8th grade lunches.

Complete VIPS Approval
All school volunteers are required to be VIPS approved. Please complete your VIPS application using the same first and last name on your ID to expedite check-in at the front office.

Complete the Testing Request Link by August 25 to register for testing. Students who have already been tested and identified as GT will carry the designation with them through high school and do not need to re-test.

Save the date for the POMS Open House on September 4 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. 

Parents will report straight to your student's 1st period. Parents are encouraged to take a picture of their student’s schedule on HISD Connect Parent Portal. You may also download the free PowerSchool app on your mobile phone.

Parents will follow their student’s schedule and have a brief opportunity to meet each of their teachers and hear about course expectations. If you have individual concerns about your student, please email their teacher/ house administrator directly, as these rotations are fast, and we must stay on schedule. 

The 2025–26 Pin Oak Yearbook is now available for pre-order. Families can order using the QR code on the flyer below, or click this link to purchase online.

Prices will increase in January, so we encourage families to purchase early. Please note that the yearbook is not included in the 8th grade end-of-year packet.

The POMS PTO uses the Membership Toolkit platform across the board, so you'll need an account to receive the Charger Chatter e-newsletter, sign up to volunteer at POMS, shop the online School Store, join the PTO, and more. 

It can all be found at our PTO website, pinoakpto.org.

All new and returning parents should Log in to update/confirm your information or sign up for an account if you're a new user. If you have used Membership Toolkit at another school, you may log in using your same account.

Also, be sure to download the free Membership Toolkit app on the App Store or Google Play, so you'll have the school directory and school calendar on your mobile device. You can even sync the PTO calendar to your phone's calendar and opt to receive push notifications for important announcements.

HISD launched a new communication tool that will take the place of many of the communication channels we utilize. School Messenger will transition to ParentSquare. As the new platform is rolled out, Pin Oak MS will send communications through our current channels and ParentSquare to ensure that information gets to all of our families as ParentSquare is rolled out. 

Parents will receive email invitations to set up a new account. We encourage you to download the app on Android or Apple apps. Although email and phone messages will come through without the app, the app helps to streamline communication. 

All volunteers are required to complete the online Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) Orientation prior to submitting and online volunteer application and agreeing to an annual background check.  

Once you are "VIPS approved", you may volunteer in any HISD school for the current school year. VIPS approval takes 3-5 days to complete but can be longer at the beginning of the school year. You will receive an automated response from donotreply@raptortech.com.

VIPS approval is required to volunteer in any capacity at POMS whether you chaperone a field trip or work in the School Store.
