Team Time Restructuring
We are excited to share some updates about Team Time as we work to better support the achievement of our students. After analyzing recent data from the NWEA, NAEP, STAAR Interim Assessment, DSA, and teacher common assessments, we are restructuring this valuable time to ensure we are meeting the diverse needs of all our students. Our goal is to help each student excel academically while fostering personal development. (Students will receive their individual NWEA Student Performance Report on Thursday during Team Time)
Team Time Schedule:
- Monday’s Charger Time, facilitated by our counselors, Ms. Lebiga and Ms. Rankins, will continue to focus on building strong relationships, emphasizing kindness, empathy, personal boundaries, and self-advocacy.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays will be dedicated to practicing skills being taught in class that week. For 6th and 7th graders, this will include IXL Math, and for our 8th graders, IXL Social Studies. The modules selected by the teachers align with the curriculum to ensure they are relevant and impactful. Students will receive a list of the weekly modules on Tuesday during Team Time.
- Fridays are for meeting with teachers or completing reassessments.
Team Time is a unique opportunity for students to work on academic skills and strengthen their understanding of key concepts. If a student completes their assigned modules, they have the flexibility to work on other homework or study for upcoming assessments.
We are committed to ensuring that this time is used effectively, and we monitor student progress weekly to track their growth and achievement. If a student has any questions or concerns about a module, they are encouraged to reach out to their teacher.
As a reminder, we will close out the 4th six weeks on February 21, so the next eight instructional days are extremely important. Students do not have school on February 14 or 19. These upcoming days will be key for student progress, and we encourage all students to stay focused and make the most of this time.
