As we begin the 5th six weeks, this is a great time to review your child’s progress and connect with teachers if you have any questions about assignments, upcoming assessments, or available tutorials. Staying in communication helps ensure a strong finish to the semester. 

Please note that Spring Break is scheduled for next week. We hope your family enjoys a safe and restful break. 

POMS Advanced Orchestra Earns Sweepstakes

Congratulations to our POMS Advanced Orchestra on earning the Sweepstakes Award at the Region 23 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Competition. The orchestra received the highest ratings from all six judges, an outstanding accomplishment. 

This achievement reflects the hard work of our students and the leadership of orchestra director Mr. Fahey. We are proud of our orchestra students for representing Pin Oak with excellence. 

Pin Oak Students Shine at Texas State German Contest 

This year, Pin Oak Middle School proudly competed in the Texas State German Contest for the very first time and our students delivered an exceptional performance. Nine eighth grade students represented Pin Oak at the state level and competed against hundreds of students, the majority from high schools across Texas. 

In every event Pin Oak entered, our students placed in the top five, earning medals, ribbons, or trophies in all categories. This is a remarkable achievement for a first year program and speaks to the high level of preparation and talent of our students, especially when competing against far more experienced high school programs. 

We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for Mr. Johnson’s leadership and commitment to providing enriching opportunities beyond the classroom.

Interest meetings for both programs will be held on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026.

It is highly MANDATORY that BOTH parents and interested candidates attend as there is important information for both parties regarding team expectations and obligations, tryout process, financial responsibilities, practice and performances, etc.
