Principal's Post

We are proud to share that Pin Oak Middle School now offers more high school credit courses than any other middle school in Houston ISD and surrounding districts. Over the past three years alone, we have expanded our high school credit offerings by an impressive 56%, creating even more opportunities for our students to get a strong academic head start.

Currently, students at Pin Oak can earn high school credit in the following courses:

  • Algebra
  • Geometry
  • IPC (Integrated Physics and Chemistry)
  • Art I
  • Theatre I
  • Principles of Information Technology
  • Fundamentals of Computer Science
  • Journalism I
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Latin
  • Mandarin Chinese
  • Spanish

While most high school credit courses are available to 8th graders, we are excited to offer several options for 7th graders as well.

We invite you to join us for our Annual Parent Information Night this Monday, February 23, from 5:00–6:00 PM in the cafeteria. The event will be recorded and posted on the Pin Oak website. Parents will be notified when it is available.

During the session, we will:

  • Review the course matrix for Algebra I, IPC, and World Languages
  • Provide an overview of all high school credit courses, including prerequisites

This session is designed to help families make informed decisions and better understand the academic pathways available to their students.

We look forward to seeing you there and partnering with you to support your child’s academic success.

Last Tuesday, February 17, our Mandarin Chinese Dragon Dance Club lit up all lunch periods with an incredible performance celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse.

We are so proud of our students for showcasing their hard work, cultural pride, and amazing school spirit for the entire Charger community to enjoy.
