It seems like just yesterday that we were doing 5th grade drive-through promotion parades, graduation parties over Zoom, and socially distanced outdoor celebrations. HISD's third Academic UIL meet will be on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Interested students can find more information on the Academic UIL page of the POMS website in the Activity section, and they can fill out and submit the interest form on Canvas and social media. 

There will be a student meeting on Thursday, December 14 for all students who submitted an Interest Form and students will receive prep materials for their chosen events before December 21 so they can take home over Winter Break if they want. 

Student entries must be submitted for Meet #3 by Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Please contact Ms. Corso with any questions.

Hello Softball Fans! Tryouts for the 2024 Charger Softball team will be held December 11th – 13th after school from 4 – 5:30 PM. 

Tryouts are available to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls. Please make sure that you get a permission slip from Coach Meyer in room B126. You will not be allowed to try out without a signed permission slip.

All students that are interested in trying out for the baseball team must have a completed baseball form on file with Coach Fujiwara. You can obtain a baseball packet from the front office or in the boys coaches office. The second page of the packet must be completed and turned into Coach Fujiwara by the Friday before their tryouts (dates listed below). 

There are two tryouts, but students attend only one of them.

• If you are a pitcher or catcher:
  • You must turn in your form by Friday, December 1
  • Tryouts begin Dec. 4 – 8
  • Pitcher and catchers will also do all the drills the position players will do, along with the pitching and catching.
• If you are a position player:
  • You must turn in your form by Friday, December 8
  • Tryouts begin Dec. 11 – 15

All tryouts can end earlier or later due to the amount of participants or the weather.

The interest meeting took place during the week of Nov 13 for all levels at Team Time.

The POMS School Store is open during student lunches. Please refer below for full schedule:

• Monday, Wednesday and Friday - open for all lunches
• Tuesday - open until 1 PM (some Tuesdays we may be open for all lunches. Please contact the school store with any questions.)
• Thursday - open until 1 PM

The POMS Online School Store is open for business. ***Please note that online orders may take a few days to fulfill and you will be notified to have your student come pick up orders when they are ready.***

Volunteers: This is your chance to volunteer and be in the middle of the action! It's a great way to meet other parents and interact with the students in the school store. 

Signups are for the 2023-2024 school year and we require at least 2 people in the store at all times. The school store is open during the students' lunch periods. Please sign up for the group (A or B)/day(s) that works best for you (shifts are every other week).

All school volunteers are required to be VIPS approved.

All volunteers in HISD must register to be VIPS approved. Please register at least two weeks before your scheduled volunteer shift, as it can take three to five business days to complete the background check. Even if you were previously VIPS approved, you will need to register again as your approval expires at the end of each school year.
