First Day of School is Around the Corner!

Dear Pin Oak Families,

Our teachers and staff have been hard at work preparing for an incredible school year, and we are so excited to welcome our Chargers back in just one week! We cannot wait to see our students and know this is going to be an exceptional year filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities.

As we prepare for the first day, please review these important reminders:

Student Schedules

Please remember that student schedules are not final until students receive them on the first day of school. Our counselors continue making adjustments to balance class sizes and ensure the best possible schedules for all students.

Upcoming Important Dates

• August 6: Charger Camp (6th Grade Students Only), 9:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m.
• August 10^th - First Day of School 8:30am – 4:00pm
• August 11: Athletic Physicals, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. in the Gym
• August 19: 8th Grade Volleyball Tryouts, 6:30 – 7:45 a.m. in the Gym
• August 20: 7th Grade Volleyball Tryouts, 6:30 – 7:45 a.m. in the Gym
• August 21: 7th Grade Volleyball Tryouts, 6:30 – 7:45 a.m. in the Gym
• August 22: 7th Grade Volleyball Tryouts, 6:30 – 7:45 a.m. in the Gym

Before the First Day

Please don't forget to:

• Complete your HISD Returning Student Online Enrollmentby August 7. This must be completed before your student can receive a school-issued laptop.
• Apply for bus transportation if your student will need transportation to and from school.
• Submit an application for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch if your family may qualify. Click here to Complete the School Meal Application.

PTO NEWS

Help us welcome our incoming 6th-grade Chargers on Thursday, August 6! We still need help with:

• Back Door Entry: 10:30 AM–12:00 PM
• Student Pick-Up: 12:00–1:00 PM — this shift is outdoors, so please wear a hat or cap
• School Store: 8:00–10:00 AM, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, and 3:00–5:00 PM

School Store shifts are limited to volunteers who have already been trained.

All volunteers must be VIPS approved.

Please join us on Friday, August 7, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM to help deliver school supply packages to classrooms.

If you have a dolly or wagon available, please bring it with you to help transport the boxes.
