SUBJECT: 📣✨ Charger Chatter | Important Back-to-School Reminders for Charger Families

July 14, 2026

Principal's Post

Dear Chargers and Charger Families,

As we prepare for the start of the new school year, please review these important reminders to help ensure a smooth beginning for your student.

🚌 Apply for Transportation Early!

If your student will need bus transportation, please apply as soon as possible here.

Processing takes approximately 5–10 business days, and wait times typically increase once school begins. Don't wait—apply early to help ensure transportation is in place for the first day of school! Notice the July28th deadline to receive transportation services starting the first day of school.

🍽️ Free & Reduced-Price Meal Applications

Please note that Pin Oak is no longer a schoolwide Title I campus. As a result, meals are no longer automatically free for all students.

If your family may qualify, you must completeFree & Reduced-Price Meal Application for your student to receive free or reduced-price meals this school year.

Apply online here.

🥪 Updated Lunch Drop-Off Procedures

To ensure a smooth and efficient lunch process, lunches must be dropped off at least five minutes before the start of your student's lunch period.

Lunch Drop-Off Deadlines:

  • 6th Grade: 12:00 p.m.
  • 7th Grade: 12:35 p.m.
  • 8th Grade: 1:10 p.m.

Lunches received by these deadlines will be delivered to the cafeteria before lunch begins.

Lunches dropped off after the cutoff time will not be delivered to students. If a lunch arrives after the deadline, the student will need to purchase a school lunch. No exceptions.

Please also keep these important reminders in mind:

  • Food may only be dropped off for your own student.
  • Food for friends or celebration treats (cupcakes, cookies, etc.) may not be dropped off or shared.
  • DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and other food delivery services will not be accepted for students.

💻 Complete Your 2026-2027 Online Registration

This year, all beginning-of-year registration must be completed online. Unlike previous years, paper registration packets will not be available. Every student must complete the required online registration before the start of school.

Please complete your registration here.

Please note: Students who have not completed online registration will not be able to:

  • Receive their district-issued laptop.
  • Request schedule changes during the first two weeks of school.

If your family does not have access to a computer or the internet, we are happy to help. Beginning Monday, July 13, families may visit the Pin Oak Middle School Front Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to complete the online registration using a school computer.

Thank you for taking care of this important step before the school year begins. Completing registration early will help ensure a smooth start to the year, allowing students to receive their devices and begin classes without delays.
