SUBJECT: Charger Chatter

September 26, 2021

Principal's Post

Dear Charger Parents and Families,

It has certainly been an exciting start to what promises to be a fantastic school year. No one can deny that COVID-19 poses challenges, but we feel our health and safety protocols are strong, consistent, and working well!

With our health measures in place, Pin Oak Middle School has been able to remain a busy place. During the month of September, our sports teams have been charging through their seasons in spectacular fashion. Other events that are on the horizon for us include the Student Council Elections, Odyssey of the Mind, and UIL Academics interest meetings... and let's not forget that Homecoming Week is October 11-15!

Remember... CHOICES MATTER! We are holding firm on wearing lanyards/IDs all day, getting to class on time, picking up after yourselves in the hallway and lunch, not participating in "Devious Licks" or other "TikTok Challenges", keeping your hands to yourselves, using appropriate language, and JUST BEING NICE! This is easy, but I sure appreciate your support in holding them accountable. Consequences have begun, so their choices ALWAYS matter.

Communication is essential and we strive to connect to our students, parents and families, and community each day. We also encourage you to visit our website and follow our social media pages, including Twitter and Instagram for announcements, information, and celebrations. Please email your student's teachers if you have a specific question or concern regarding their academic success.

As always, we wish to express our sincere gratitude toward our entire school community. Pin Oak would not be the amazing school that we are without the help and support of all of you. Thank you and may you have a safe, healthy, and happy fall season!

See you soon,

Lindsey Vela
