Principal's Post
Happy Summer, Charger Community!
Thank you for all the congratulatory emails, notes, and phone calls of support that I have received. You sure know how to make a principal feel welcome! I truly believe that the success of Pin Oak will be based on forming quality relationships with each other, communicating early and often, and doing our best to work as a team to provide and prepare your child for success beyond their middle school years. Oh, and have a little fun making memories along the way!
For the 2021-2022 school year, all required HISD ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through HISD Connect (Parent Portal). Offering these forms digitally allows you the convenience of only updating information that has changed from last year, while also helping us maintain accurate information in our student information system. The system has been disabled until the first day of school (August 23). We will send reminders in the Charger Chatter when those forms are available for you to complete and submit electronically.

See you soon!

Lunch is available for purchase for $5 online only in advance of 6th Grade Charger Camp by clicking here. You will need to log into or sign up for a Membership Toolkit account to complete the order. Lunch orders are prepay only and will not be available for purchase the day of Charger Camp.
The deadline to place your lunch order is Friday, August 6.

Bouncing Forward: Tips on Resilience
Resilience isn't just "bouncing back', it's "bouncing forward".
Hello et Bonjour, We can become stronger and better at tackling the next challenge that is sure to come along. It is thought that the key to resilience is our mindset- how we think about the challenges we are facing. We are sure facing some now!
Key Takeaways
- Resilience isn’t just “bouncing back", it’s “bouncing forward”- learning from challenges and finding the motivation to tackle the next one.
- Learning from setbacks can help kids build self-awareness and self-advocacy skills.
- Allowing your child to do things that are difficult (and even fail at them) can help build resilience.
